The president of Egypt, king of Jordan and Palestinian Authority president were among those taking part in the gathering on Saturday to discuss the developments in Palestine and Gaza.
Egyptian President Abdul Fattah el-Sisi condemned the killing of innocent people and called for protecting the Palestinian nation.
He said Cairo is opposed to forced displacement of Palestinians and regards it as the annihilation of the Palestinian issue.
Anyone who thinks the steadfast Palestinian nation is willing to leave their land is mistaken, Sisi said, stressing that the issue of Palestine cannot be resolved without a just solution.
He also noted that Egypt has not closed the Rafah Border Crossing but the Israeli bombings have prevented it from opening.
King Abdullah of Jordan, in his address, condemned the Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip and the regime’s targeting of civilians in the coastal enclave.
He also denounced Israel for preventing food, medicine and humanitarian aid to reach the people of Gaza.
The war on Gaza must stop immediately, he said, warning that disregarding international humanitarian laws would have dire consequences.
He also described the intense bombing of Gaza as a collective punishment and a war crime.
Mahmud Abbas, the Palestinian Authority president, also said the forced displacement of Palestinians will never be accepted and that Palestinians will remain in their land despite all challenges.
He further condemned the attacks by the Zionist regime and settlers on Palestinian sanctities in Al-Quds.
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres also addressed the Cairo summit in person, saying the time has come to put an end to the nightmare that threatens children.
He underlined the need for ending the conflict and reaching peace in Palestine.
The summit comes as the 16th day since the start of the Israeli regime’s airstrikes on the Gaza Strip that has led to the martyrdom of over 4,000 civilians in the besieged enclave.
